Hi , I'm Quentin, I'a graphic designer free-software and enthusiast . Since two years I share these interests with students by teaching at Nimes University and The Orléans School of Art and Design. I'm part of @velvetyne prepostprint.org and Atelier Téméraire (which distribute political/graphical zines, thesis and posters). I'm also a big fan of and currently working with a beautiful plotter call Plotilde (adopted with @raphael ). I love organise meeting's and workshop to exchange with poeple and learn new stuff.
To pay my rent and eat I develop small website (I'm mor specialized in the frontend job, I'm afraid by big architectures).
These last month I'm questionning the notion of in my domains and the society. I'm interrested by promoted by movements.

I m not programmer, but I’ve certain skill with web language. To survive (pay my bill, eat and live), I need to accept some works that is to complicated to me… It’s give me hard time, anxiety and imposture syndrome…I think about refuse all works that is require competence that I didn’t have, but some times I learn a lot from these… But how to manage the balance with this learning process and the stress due to the demands of clients ?

Why graphic design come at this point that graphic designer can be so egocentric about their knowledge...

I migrate to Xubuntu 22.1 and @inkscape release their new version, with MULTIPLE PAGE LAYOUT ! What a perfect morning !

I don’t understand why french schools of art started to use « design numérique » as an label for the creative digital practices, education that going from creative coding to web design… I mean « design » word looks like an excuse to legitimate digital art practice, hacking, etc.

or, to put it differently, how many initiatives and artists do you financially support?

Why I'm asking: because I'm wondering how sustainable the micropatronage model is…

I write a manifest, my manifest. It's about labour, design, aesthetic. It's draw with Plotilde (a lovely plotter) and typeset with Manusquared (a SIL OFL font I've created). It's in french, but I'll translate in english soon !
