@torrejuseppe One of my favourite citations from Alex McLean: "This can lead to the bizarre situation where programmers make commercial software which practically generates music, and yet somehow the users of the software are seen as being more creative than the programmers. Here the programmers encode their musical style in the software, and the users go little beyond guiding the software to a destination pleasing to them. This can be seen in filters and plugins of music studio software as well as explicitly generative commercial applications such as SseyoKoan Pro. @torrejuseppe Perhaps also take a look at my article in the 3DMin book (3dmin.org/publications/) - also in that book, the concept of meta-instrumentality of De Campo et al. is interesting to look at.

@nescivi oh yes I am familiar with that book and with both de Campo and your work in it! Surely the content is highly relevant as the aim is to reduce the distance between user and coder (your work) and speculate on alternative NIME paradigms (De Campo). In my article, these themes, as well others, are at the origins of what then became a more theoretical (ethical/philosophical or other) discussion on the way digital art is approached.
