hello my name is Travis, and this is my #introduction
I’m an artist that makes #theatre / #PerformanceArt (in the experimental, dance-theatre, post dramatic genre), #animations, games, puppets, paintings, music. I’m queer, live in Brooklyn NY, and like to make people laugh.
I am the co-chair of the IT Committee for a small food cooperative, and love talking about it.
hello! I'm ryan challinor, a coder/designer/prototyper/game developer with a strong interest in music and interactive systems. I don't consider myself a musician, but I love making music
in 2011 I started building a DAW-like modular synth environment to help me learn about music and audio programming, and I've worked on it obsessively ever since. in 2021 I released its 1.0 version publicly open-source as "bespoke synth" (http://bespokesynth.com/)
most of what I post here will likely be about features I add to bespoke, or videos of music I make in bespoke. you can go see some of that stuff over on the bird site, while it still exists: https://twitter.com/awwbees
I'm a dad, I like biking around the city, I have a MIDI controller addiction, and I recently joined a bouldering gym
First, I'm old. I mean OLD. My first internet experiences were as an adult academic in the mid-late 80s. As a Black person (and at the time, a woman) it was not unusual to be met with micro-agressions, harassment, and incredulity when I was online.
Thus, I have never expected, nor found, truly safe space online. 1/
Hi everyone! I'm Bérénice. I’m an artist based in Zürich and I produce web based projects, installations, performances and web-to-print books that critically examine the way we make things public.
I also teach art publishing and digital art at the School of Arts & Media Caen/Cherbourg, in Normandie, where I’m the Program Director of the MA Editorial Design.
These days, I spend time looking for cute sky belly buttons in StreetView.
To this extent I'm really interested to know how the age breakdown of people on the #Fediverse. On one hand it would seem to make sense to me that most people here remember the "old internet" before the centralization and they're here to rekindle that flame of independence. On the other hand the youths are generally pretty up on this whole technology thing. I grew up on the internet and since then smartphones have become even more ubiquitous.

Blini (блины) are a lesson in carbon steel humility though. Absolute disaster. After modifying the recipe to contain egg it works very well. Not sure what babushka's secret is for the egg-free traditional recipe. Perhaps the age of the pan.

A love letter for the Twitter exodus from your friends at Social.coop.
By way of #introduction I'll share one of my #projects reclaiming and giving away discarded (and mostly new) Uber JUMP #ebikes. Tens of thousands of them got sent to a scrap metal processor near my house. I wanted one for myself and ended up with several tractor trailer loads! They work great but I had to design a new bike computer to replace the proprietary integration points with Uber's app. The new model has an app too, but interfaces via BLE rather than LTE.

hi! i'm brent. i'm an artist and programmer in nyc trying to make "punk software."
i'm a tech fellow at eyebeam, an art + technology nonprofit, where i spend most of my time working on weird digital art spaces and helping @shibacomputer out with anti-surveillance work.
i am into open-source, shitposting, walking simulators, dungeons and dragons, and DIY hardware & software. this seems like a nice place and i am happy to be here! i am new to the concept of a "friendly" online space but i am eager to see what it's like and meet some folks.
I do projects on/with/about computers, networks, infrastructures. he/him
