I went for a swim and accidentally took my OnePlus Two phone with me.
The phone is now disassembled and drying in the sun.
Predict its chances of survival below
@mathr fresh, but chlorinated
@rra Fresh water or salt water?
@lilletale fresh!
@rra
you might get away with only having to replace the battery if you are lucky but... yeah... best of luck
@eylul @douwe @lilletale @mathr
ok so I've reassembled and pugged it in. Get a "battery too low to charge" screen. Question is is now whether I can find a replacement battery and whether that will fix it.
@rra I would let it dry for at least two days. And then hopefully you have a friend who can borrow you a test batteryβ¦
@eylul @douwe @lilletale @mathr @Billie
Incredibly, adding a new battery and unplugging part of the mainboard which a.o controls the physical buttons allows me to boot again and rescue the data. No network connectivity whatsoever, perhaps because of that unplugging.
I think the phone itself is a goner considering spare parts are so expensive.
I'm now running adb pull while the battery still lasts.
@rra happy to hear you are able to save the data...
@rra hope dies last
After the poll finished, did the phone survive? We want the answer. π
@Billie The screen works but it is in a boot loop due to a battery which is too drained to charge. I've ordered a new one which should arrive this week. Then I will update! Still fingers crossed..
@rra salt or fresh water?
