@rra it's some kind of recognition of course but ... they must for multiple reasons run their own instance on secured domains... : now anyone can be "maduro" on masodon.social ... :/
plus it threatens these generalists instances of being sensored by employing it for very sensitive/tense international political communication .. its not what its intended for if I'm not mistaken (and what the birdsite should not be used for imho)
- so it should not be taken seriously unless they self-host ;)

Yeah it makes little sense. Let's see, if they are serious about it they'll probably be setting up their own servers soon. In the mean time I'm enjoying the ever increasing absurdity of .social federated timeline:
