I came across https://licensezero.com some time ago and I agree with the problem it's trying to solve which I see as "sustainability in free software", I think I'd be happy to get money for what I've done, especially when I know it's being used commercially. I care about my users' freedoms, and as long as I keep this I'm fine departing from any definition of "Free software". Anybody tried similar alternative solutions? Thoughts? Feedback? And what were your goals in doing so.

Topic 1: #XMPP Shortage Audit
We talk about ways in which xmpp comes short compared to other solutions like Slack, WhatsApp etc.
On the list are things such as contact discovery, snippets, microblogging ("stories"), stickers, bots and other integrations.
Some of those are already specified but lack implementation, others are not yet tackled at all.

FOSS politics [ - ]
Cry-LoL-ing at the new "FOSS Code of Conduct" by Derek Taylor.
'Surely, it is possible to write a Code of Conduct that doesn't push some extremist political ideology'
and later ...
'... we have to understand that the market is never wrong. You may think that you deserve more money, greater respect or better treatment. But if no one is willing to give you these things, then the market has priced you accordingly.'
This is just one example, the whole thing is absolute trash fire. "let's take the politics out of it" is never a good sign.
Then they came for #Greenwald and I didn't care because I 'had no time' and because 'hacking is a crime, you see?' and because Brazil is far away..
Then I realized: 'oh wait?! what?! Shit!!!', shortly before I got arrested myself by fascists hordes."
I've just released Converse.js version 6.0.0.
The biggest change is support for storing data (e.g. messages) in IndexedDB which has no size restrictions. It's not yet the default store, but will be eventually.
