@minimaldotclick I'd say avoid using LMMS if you can. There's a long answer for this, but the gist is that it their core sound engine is basically somewhere between objectively bad and just broken (and beyond repair). Don't let the pretty UI trick you.
Ardour might have it's quirks, but it's much more solid than LMMS.
In my personal opinion, I think the best path to success getting a working setup on Linux involves a combination of open-mindedness and specificity in your workflow. You really aren't going to find a FLOSS DAW that's a direct competitor to something exactly like Ableton/Logic, but if you know your workflow well enough, there may be something that is a close enough fit.
