Attempt at escape-time Apollonian gasket via circle inversions.

I implemented Slow Mating for quadratic polynomials using the equations and hints in Chapter 5 of Wolf Jung's 2017 paper "The Thurston Algorithm for quadratic matings" arxiv.org/abs/1706.04177

My code is 145 lines of quite-straightforward C, vs 2249 lines of C++ with various state hidden in mutating objects for the code accompanying the paper (which admittedly does a lot more, working from angles to compute the complex points and (pre)periods that are the input to my code). I'll do a blog post next week once I've tested more cases to make sure I haven't done any big mistakes.

There were a couple of subtleties, 1. needing to use cproj() to normalize infinity's representation and avoid NaNs; and 2. in one place, converting (a - b) / (a - c) to (1 - b/a) / (1 - c/a) so that it still works when a is infinite.

Attached images are the north period 4 island mated with the west period 4 island (blue background), and 2/5 bulb mated with 1/2 bulb (turquoise background).

ported Pauldelbrot's Multiwave colouring from Clojure to Haskell and generated an image containing the default gradient, then applied it to hybrid escape-time fractal in FragM/Trudy/MuET

Heath Bunting - Intimacy Encryption Workshop

In a time of surveillance capitalism, privacy requires some radical
methods. A workshop in how to communicate secretly over any media using nothing more than sharing some special time together. Used very effectively by former fluffy groups such as Irish Republican Army and Palestine Liberation Organization. Heath Bunting is a contemporary British artist born in 1966. Based in Bristol, he is the founder of the site irational.orgwith Daniel García Andújar, Rachel Baker and Minerva Cuevas and was one of the early practitioners in the 1990s of net.art. Bunting's work is based on creating open and democratic systems by modifying communications technologies and social systems.

On Saturday 23rd November, in , , I'll be leading a on in the language using . Note that clive does not work on Windows or Mac.

clive is a C audio live-coding skeleton. It allows you to processing callbacks, providing not much more than automatic C recompilation, object code reloading, and state preservation.

The workshop will work on dependencies installation, basics of sysadmining and git, CLI, define DSP and examples similar to clive, sound synthesis and feedback, shaping sounds and a live performance preparation.

The workshop is conducted in English language.

To participate, you need to bring your own (GNU/Linux OS) laptop, and (optional) headphones.
