Dear mastofriends, if any of you has already encountered research papers or other works treating about the difference between the client-server network approach (#centralized) VS peer-to-peer approach (#decentralized) in term of their impact on climate and biodiversity I'd be very interested please. thanks! :)
@wendy@imacrea it is not an exact match, but I wrote a paper about edge computing and sustainability. It is not a quantified comparison of peer to peer and client server model though, if that is what you are searching for. I'd be curious to hear your findings :) I don't think you can quite disentangle the two models based on today's networks (except perhaps in protocols such as SSB or sneakernets).
