If you're in Rotterdam this July (22nd-25th), keep reading!
Together with Santiago Pinyol and Luke Murphy we're organizing this year's edition of Relearn in and around the city.
Relearn is an intensive IRL three day collective learning experiment with as many teachers as participants from all backgrounds and disciplines to learn from-and-teach each other, beyond the traditional paradigms of education from an interest in free culture and practices of care.
This year's edition will take place in and focus on Rotterdam. We aim to explore the importance of self-organisation and the use of experimental tools to build alternative systems and economies within the urban fabric of Rotterdam.
Apply by the 30th of June! Find the full text of the open call here -> http://relearn.be/2021/
@ephemeral Agreed, but to be fair, the group has plenty of work dealing with contract, employment and work conditions inequalities.
I had offered a small text and a presentation on tools consideration, with easy alternatives mattermost > slack for example but the fear of having to 'learn something new / learn a new platform' pushed this down the list.
I was changing jobs back then and wasn't able to accompany as well as I had initially thought. I still have hope that Praxis could be a beacon for applied F/LOSS use in organised contexts, but it'll need a lot more work :)
Maybe your text appearing in VAN will be a helpful nudge!
@ephemeral looking forwards to reading this!
Over the last year, I've attended a few #praxis meetings, the new, mostly set up artist union for Ireland.
While I won't be a member myself (full time in education) I spoke and wrote to the group about the digital environment of the union which was organising itself with google groups, slacks, zooms and mailchimps.
I'm not sure my words had much impact, but hopefully your article will bring it back to the fore there too.
Please do post link when online :)
All the best
@focus404 I manage with these via the temp controller that I made, which is basically a temp & humidity inkbird, but homemade. What other info can I send you? Glad to help how I can and looking forwards to any documents you'll produce!
@focus404 for sure! I can take a few pictures if you'd like? I have two heating systems at the moment, one is a heat belt for brews, it wraps around bucket fermentors. The way is a dehydrator, set to low. I put wrapped containers into the dehydrator when I need the things to keep a humidity level. I don't find the dehydrator to be optimal for this, but it is very convenient because it has shelves and a lid and its pretty compact.
